Reindeer PAK (Performing Arts for Kids):

 

REINDEER PAK (Performing Arts for Kids) is an on-going program of short-term workshops that empower young individuals while exploring various aspects of creative expressive arts including singing, acting, movement, dance, improvisation, story-telling, poetry, etc.

The Reindeer PAK is a low-barrier program that offers a fun and unique experience to kids of all ages and profiles. The focus is on "process" rather than "product." Using a backdrop of performing arts skills, the experiential benefits of our PAK program include self-empowerment, self-awareness, self-esteem, confidence, communication and social skills, teamwork, support for individual creativity, on-going development of individual talent, and a sense of belonging.

The Reindeer PAK began in 1991. Since then, we've offered PAK sessions to many groups throughout Central and Southern Maine (Lewiston-Auburn YWCA, Biddeford’s McArthur Library, Home School groups) in addition to ongoing series in our own space. It is our hope that ongoing series of PAK classes can be reinstated once the dream of a permanent performing arts space is realized (see Reindeer Theatre Company).
